I’m hoping for more snow. It’s much more fun than rain and dreariness. I love to read while glancing up every once in a while to see the snow fall. I love the excitement of wondering how deep it will get and the silence that comes along with it. Snow is magic. It changes everything, if only for a little while.
Besides, if we get buried in snow maybe I’ll be forced into staying home and that means more time for writing and revising. I love all the possibilities of a snow day so much that it makes me wonder how anyone could ever curse the snow away.
My new year’s resolutions will pretty much be the same as last year. I’m used to recycling resolutions but with some of them I actually accomplished the opposite this time around. Instead of moving more (a scaled down version of exercising more), I moved much less than usual. The only resolution I did keep was to eat more chocolate. When combined with moving much less, the results could be called pretty scary.
And so in a final attempt to move more often while finishing everlasting novel revisions, I’m going to take a little extra time for those things this holiday season. I’ll be back to my regular Wednesday postings in mid-January with more Cape Cod photos and maybe even a few alpacas or goats. I’ll also be doing some new things here like author interviews. Given I’m currently in New Hampshire and will be driving back to Ohio in two days, I’m really hoping the snow keeps itself to a minimum. My Prius, snow, and a mountain drive don’t make the best combination. 😉

Snow is magical. I hate driving in it, but otherwise, I love it a TON! I think I kept my eating chocolate goal too (sadly). This year I might strive to eat less, but still talk about it all the time. It’s fun to talk about, right? Enjoy your break…and happy New Year!
I love it too. It’s the best when we’re forced into hibernating so that we don’t have to drive in it for at least a few days or more. I forgot that we had the same chocolate resolution! That’s one way to make sure to keep a resolution, but now I do need to start moving a lot more because of it. 🙂 It is fun to talk and think and dream about chocolate though. Hope you have a great new year with maybe a little less chocolate and even more laughs!
Dislike snow and the chaos and disruption it causes. I suspect we in Scotland are not sufficiently well organised to cope with it when it comes, leaving us frozen in badly insulated homes, sliding on roads without winter tyres, and with the public transport system grinding to a halt. Would much rather bask in the (not too hot) sun.

That’s why we need to make sure to stay home when it snows – so that we’ll love it and the magic of it. Basking in the sun sounds good though too! I’ll hope all your snow finds its way here. Happy New Year!
I love snow, too! It definitely keeps my butt in the writing chair. Last summer was torture for me, trying to write on the weekends. This summer I’m definitely taking off to enjoy the sun. For now, you know where to find me…going cross-eyed against a beautiful, snowy background.
It does seem like it should be easier to get more done if we’re forced into staying inside. Make sure to send more snowballs this way! I’ll be thinking of you revising and hibernating while I’m hopefully doing the same. I hope your cat editing team keeps you warm. 🙂
I love what you write about the silence of the snowfall. I know just what you mean. It’s like a blanket that falls on the world, so cozy. I, too, hope for more snow. Looking at the forecast, it looks like we may get a little on the East coast in the next few days. That would be a fun way to start the year! Goat snowman, anyone?
Hahah! Now I’m going to have to attempt a goat snowman! 🙂 We’re supposed to get a blizzard tomorrow and Friday with up to 12 inches or so – yahoo! That’s enough for a whole goat family. Hope you have fun playing in the snow or staying in and reading!
I like snow, but only if I get to stay home and be cozy! We haven’t really had any yet. Usually we get a big storm in late January.

Snow around here leads to roads that are even more dangerous than normal, so I’m not a big fan. I also can’t take the cold the way I used to do. Moving to a milder climate probably hasn’t helped!

Wow, that’s a lot of snow, it’s a good thing you like it. I like the snow, as long as I don’t have to spend too much time in it because I get cold, and not drive. I’m a terrible driver in the snow. I’d have to invest in an all wheel drive car if I ever moved back to snowy winters. But snow means you live in an area that looks green all year round, something I can’t say about San Diego. And I miss the green. Happy new year! I still have to make a list of my 2014 goals (not resolutions). It’s going to be a fun year, hopefully.

I love snow, though I want it to hold off this year so I can get to my last few yoga training weekends. It doesn’t snow much where I live but jingsandthings already pointed out we don’t deal too well with it when it does.
I see you’re aiming to move more too! Ten years ago I routinely took more than 10000 steps every day, without trying or thinking about it. Lifestyle changes mean the last few years have got very sedentary and I’m not happy with the results. So I ordered a pedometer yesterday and am starting consciously to walk more again. Loving it already!

Hope you have fun playing in the snow too! Playing in the snow can also help us with that moving more goal. 🙂 That’s a good idea to track it with a pedometer to make sure to get those steps in. Happy New Year!
I love snow, except when I have to drive in it. I don’t mind the shoveling part because I count that as the exercise I need for the day. Right now, I’m watching the flakes swirling around outside my windows and listening to Christmas music (I love Christmas music even when it’s not Christmas). Very cozy, indeed.
My resolutions are going to be recycled too, it seems. But with more spunk. I lacked spunk in 2013, I realized, and I think that inhibited my efforts at getting published along with other failed goals.
Here’s to a spunkier 2014!
I like the sound of a spunkier 2014. That coziness is one of the things to love about snow. I also tell myself shoveling is good exercise. 🙂 It’ll get us to move around more anyway! I love the snow too and I’m so happy with the timing of this storm as I love to hibernate after the craziness of the winter holidays. Got my kindle loaded, plus a pile of books, some new yarn for knitting, a bunch of photos to edit and plenty of coffee (plus a few bottles of wine)! So bring it on!

I like the snow as long as I don’t have to drive on it. But at this point, enough is enough. Schools have been closed for 3 weeks due to the holidays, snow, ice, and now arctic temperatures. We’re all getting sick of each other at my house.

Snow does make the cold much more fun. It’s hard to move when you’re frozen in place though. 🙂 Ok, now that you’ve reminded me I guess I should move a little.
Very true. I move indoors. Lots of chores. And my mom has her own fitness room so I use her treadmill and machines. There is zero excuse not to move more in this house. 😉
What beautiful pictures! Keep ’em coming and I might warm up (har, har) to snow a little bit. I do love when it’s all fluffy and white and picturesque… just not so much when I have to walk, run or drive in it.
I guess just watching the snow is my favorite thing to do with it too. I love blizzards mostly for the excuse to stay in, read, and drink large quantities of hot chocolate. 🙂

I don’t live anywhere near where it snows, so yes, I love it. I can say that because I don’t have to live with it for many months each year and I can look at it and say Ohh pretty. I’m living in a heat wave right now.

Definitely love the snow! I agree with you – would rather have the white stuff than rain and dreary. It’s already dark enough in winter without it, dontcha think?
I live on the South shore of Montreal so we’ve been quite “blessed” with the stuff this year. As you can see in my latest posts (thanks for the follow, btw) I have been taking the time to go out pretty much every day even when it’s minus freeze your butt off!
I loved your snow photos with your dog! They make everything fun because they see the fun in everything. It made me want to stick my nose in the snow too! 🙂
