Snapthought: Autumn Marsh

your gold rattles
for all to see
sunshine in the wind
stirring burnished colors
with the faintest whispers
you are discovery
to any explorer
you are a reason
to sit and smile

  1. i guess those who want to smile will find enough reason to do just that. We need to have the will and the WANT to do that.

very nicely told. i could almost feel the sway of the wind and hear the rustle rising from the ground. and i couldn’t help but smile 🙂

  2. Beautiful , Sheila! I love to sit out in the field like that and just listen to the whispers . Thank you for sharing this one.
    Ciao, Francina

    • Love to just sit and listen too and I bet we don’t do it often enough. Thank you for your kind words and inspirational poetry. I loved your autumn poem.

    • Thanks so much! Sometimes I feel like throwing something quick out there just for fun. Our leaves aren’t all that colorful out here but at least our marshes are!

    • So true – I have to keep reminding myself to get out there more often just for that reason. Thank you and I hope you have a great weekend filled with moments like that.

  3. Simply lovely. Open spaces like the one in your picture always get me thinking about explorations, adventures, just taking off and enjoying freedom.
