we love to drive by farmlands
fleeting in the distance
glowing moments yellow green
then nothing but gray highway
these yellow green moments
make us think
of fresh frothy milk
homemade apple pies
baked bread puffing up
like clouds in endless skies
the smell of the earth
after the rain
then again there’s nothing
but gray highway
Nice, Sheila.
thank you – I just wish I could have gotten out of the speeding car
Great poem…and pictures!
thank you! 🙂
Mmmm….loved your poem, Sheila, and your photos! I’m a country girl (middle aged, perhaps), at any rate, I really enjoyed these! xx 🙂
Thanks Lauren! I loved your horse photos too. I’m originally from MI and so I have a crazy love of farmlands and the ocean – too bad they’re not usually near each other. xoxo
Gorgeous! A very sensory poem. 🙂
thank you – I think I might have been hungry at the time 🙂
Beautiful photos and I loved your words ! The landscape is similar to where I live and I love farmlands !
Thank you – me too! 🙂
