tree shine
softened by time
skeletal remains
all that is left
stripped of needles
stripped of bark
rough edges fade
and fall away
as they let go
of their prickly nature
only the inside
left to shine
Thank you! They were really shining in the sun – kind of hard to tell with some of the shadows that came through in the pictures though.
beautiful poem…..lovely photos!
so sad when there is a forest fire…..
lots of pine trees dying around here – there was some sort of pine tree disease going around – I probably should have made the words sadder but mostly took the pictures because they were shining so much in the sun
Awww…beautiful poem and wonderful photos, Sheila~
thank you – you’re the real poet though – I don’t really know what I’m doing 🙂
