“View from Paradise” Short Story Published

I’m excited to announce that Independent Ink’s online journal just published my short story “View from Paradise.” This story was a Glimmer Train finalist and was rejected about 20 times (and revised many more times) before finding a home at Independent Ink. I’m grateful for the rejections because I think the story is better now, but I’m also very thankful that Independent Ink’s editors selected it for publication before the apocalypse.

Here’s the link to the story: View from Paradise

To celebrate, here are some pictures of the place that inspired the story, the Riviera Maya:

    • I hope it helps to bring back some memories of your trip. It is such a mystical place. Pictures and words probably don’t do it justice. Hope you also stayed away from the monkeys! 🙂

    • Thank you – it’s definitely a relief – especially since I wrote it a few years ago and kept thinking that it has to be published before the apocalypse!

  3. Kudos, kiddo! Glad to see you enjoying the fruits of your labor….I’ve been too close to the ledge to write lately but I’ll try to scribble something one of these days 😉

  4. Sheila,
